The Mako is a interesting ship that falls somewhere between the Orion class Frigate and smaller strikecraft. The Mako-class Corvette is also renowned for being the smallest ship in the UNSC fleet mounted with a reliable, usable Slipspace drive. They are made of many sensitive components that must be maintained.
Due to the fact that it is one of the smallest, fastest ships with a Slipspace drive, the Mako is used in a variety of roles including, Convoy Escort, Light Scouting, and Troop Transport. It's armament however, is best suited towards engaging other strikecraft, as it is weaponry found on fighters.
